Saditrol contains a medication called Calcitriol, which belongs to a group of drugs known as vitamin D metabolites. Saditrol is used for the following purposes:
- Bone diseases in individuals with kidney problems (renal osteodystrophy).
- Weakening of bones in women after menopause.
- During Saditrol use, do not take any vitamin or dietary supplement containing vitamin D.
- During Saditrol use, avoid foods fortified with vitamin D.
It’s crucial to follow any dietary recommendations provided by your physician. Changing your calcium or vitamin D intake without consulting your doctor can increase the risk of side effects. For instance, if you consume more dairy products like milk and cheese or take vitamins without your doctor’s knowledge. Stay well-hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids like water, as it’s essential to prevent dehydration. This may not apply to you if you have kidney problems.
